Sometimes, life gets in the way.
It’s been quite a minute, hasn’t it? It’s been over a year of working full-time (and overtime) while freelancing and working part-time for the family business, of crammed weekends and familial obligations, of frantically making merchandise, of nervously vending at craft fairs, of being the primary cantor at the Sunday 10:30 masses, of this, of that, of everything under the sun and nothing at all.
I am exhausted, but I am also grown and changed and experienced in comparison to who I was when I first started writing here. I can only hope that in my absence, you, dear reader, have learned and have grown and changed for the better as well.
So, today is #WellnessWednesday! Let’s take stock of where I’m at...
My state of mind as of late has been absolutely, positively, quite entirely in disarray. One thing I did for my mental health today was decide to start my blog back up! I also organized my monthly expenses and budget through my online banking app (in anticipation of payday), and dusted off my planner, cracked it open, and wrote down all the plans going on this month and some events I hope to join!
I started cooking more again, taking photos to document, and I‘m planning to workout at least once a week, to walk some 5Ks, and to remember to do my PT exercises for my knee. It’s nice to move around for my own sake, not because I’m harried and hurried from trying to get things done.
My skincare routine is pretty much set in stone. In fact, I have a brand new mask recipe to share down below! Just did it last night, and I felt like my face was made of clouds. It’s lovely.
Thanks so much for reading this update! It feels great to be back. Let me know what you want to see here! I have a lot of content in mind, but I’m not going to have a set schedule, just to discourage disappointment... My minimum will be once a month, though!
What about you? What's your status now? How do you feel? What are your goals? What's the plan to meet those goals? What are your achievements? How do you want to start making improvements? What improvements have you already made? Leave a comment down below to let me know how you've been working on your wellness!
I’ll be running a Mothers’ Day sale in my shop this month! It starts tomorrow, May 2nd. Check it out! There’s likely someone in your life who loves you like a mother (and vice versa!), so why not get them something special?
Much love,
Blessing
Clarifying Clay Mask
Enjoy the terrifying (middle) photo below!
This mask is chock full of good-for-your-skin ingredients. If you wanna see which brands I recommend, click the links below!
What you'll need:
Face mask kit (the most important parts: a non-metal bowl, a non-metal mixing implement, and something to keep the hair off your face!)
1 tablespoon of bentonite clay (which is why you can't use metal)
1 scoop of matcha powder
1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
1 tablespoon of unfiltered apple cider vinegar (I love Bragg's ACV, myself)
2-5 drops of tea tree essential oil
5 drops of 725mg CBD oil (optional—use my link for a discount!)
Directions:
Mix the wet ingredients together.
Slowly add in the dry ingredients, clay first.
Stir until foamy and apply to face and neck with brush or fingers, avoiding the eyes, nostrils, and mouth.
Let dry and leave on between 10 minutes and 1 hour.
Rinse mask off with warm water.
Apply your favorite toner—sometimes, good old witch hazel is best!—and follow up with a soothing, hydrating moisturizer.
